Artist's Block?

I've been feeling very uninspired lately. I don't know why. I like to call it "Artist's Block" because I can't think of anything to draw, while I can write a story for whatever I want fairly easily.

If you've read my previous entries you can trace back to when it started. it used to happen I guess every 3 months or so... But now it's happened every time I make a picture. And now I don't make them anymore (nevermind the Setsuka picture which is 'fan art', and not original)! I think I've been able to find out why - reference drawing. I know a lot of people say that it's not a crutch, and it has greatly helped me, but I think the problem comes as I try to draw more and more realistic pictures, it's harder draw from imagination. =(

And I like to use my imagination. I'm a dreamer. =(

So when this element is no longer used or useful in drawing a picture, it becomes less fun for me. I have so little satisfaction lately from my pictures because I feel like it never "looks right" or realistic enough/identical to the reference that I've started to shy away from the experience of drawing because it's no longer an exciting experience... but a stressful one.

I was looking at some old pictures and things I've drawn in my house a few days ago and I finally came to a conclusion. Instead of trying to learn how to draw everything before I make a new picture I'm just gonna have fun!
----

AND SO FROM NOW ON, I'M GONNA TRY TO ENJOY THE RIDE! :w00t:

I'm not gonna be afraid of making a mistake everytime I draw a picture and instead I'm just gonna draw it, and if there's a mistake I'll just improve!

My computer is saved!! :boogie:

After much struggle, and trying all of your advice (~Slightslinger was had the best advice, but thanks anyway for all of your help guys!) nothing seemed to be accomplished. And so I continued to trek the World Wide Web through my ancient version of Internet Explorer to look for answers elsewhere starting with Mozilla's own website, and a few of their Knowledge Bases. After many sleepless hours and trying all of the FAQ replies that I could (I even tried installing Safari, but the installer would start do I deleted it) but still, nothing was working.

Firefox 3 is alas, too new for any existing fixes to work on it.

I was seriously starting to worry if IE use was my only option. =(

After asking around and bumping into more deadends, I found a person @ Yahoo! Answers (kind of a last resort before getting... IE7!)who was also having these problems. The person was discussing it with some of the other people over there who had Firefox 3. After trying all of the steps he (or she; sorry didn't get the info) could as well, nothing happened, and instead gave everybody THE LINK to the previous version of Firefox which wasn't even being offered at Mozilla:

If anybody else has been struggling recently with Firefox 3 and you need to just get back to the old one until 3 gets its act together, use the link.

And that means I can get back to work!! :w00t:

My computer...

...Is acting crazy. PLAESE HELP!!!! As I'm typing this, I am temporarily using IE, due to the fact that Firefox totally stops responding while it's on; I've been forced to use the Task Manager to turn it off all the time. A few days ago my high-speed connection was also going berzerk, as it only gave me the "404" message whenever I tried to go anywhere. The problem was fixed though when I reinstalled the driver for the highspeed modem, with the help of my trusty (and I do mean trusty) Windows XP. For I guess 2 weeks now, I've had to restart the computer and turn it off completely while I was in the middle of work.

And so began a pattern of:

"Firefox, restart, work in Safe Mode, work normally, Firefox, restart, work in Safe Mode,
work normally, Firefox..."

I don't know what's wrong.

It makes me want to destroy the computer. Very badly. :X

I just need Firefox to start working again.

Can anybody tell me what's wrong with it or help me out?

And worse, my picture for :icongermancitygirl: might be delayed for an even longer amount of time because of what I call "Creator's Block".

Which is much worse than Writer's Block, because I'm not being inspired to draw anything, whereas I don't have Writer's Block because I can write stories without a hitch. (YAY!)

I don't know what'll happen now. I might not be able to start making more pictures for a long time, or worse, not be able to get to the internet.

Just incase anybody's wondering, no, nothing is wrong with my connection.

Something is wrong with Firefox. If I'm right, all it needs is an update from Mozilla and I'll be good to go - except THERE IS NO UPDATE. And I don't know when they'll make one! 0_0

JUST SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE!

Some update...plus!

I know it's been a bit boring around here hasn't it? But thanks anyway to all of you who have been coming around even though I haven't been giving you any new pictures lately... My practicing and study of the human anatomy has taken longer than I expected it to. ^^; And Ive been very uninspired lately. :upset:

But! I am working on a new picture right now, and I'm also working on starting my Star Wars fan fiction that I told you all about so many journal entries ago...

By the way, I'd like to recommend a book. I read it a few months ago but so many things happened that I never got the chance to finish it, but I'm getting back on it. My brother finished reading it all in one night! Mom finished a little later, but me? I've been doing my own things and I nevergot the chance to. Recently I can't stop! :faint:

So without further ado, I'd like you to pick it up if you haven't already - It's called A Tale Of Three Kings, by Gene Edwards.
(And really, it's his best work.)
At first it seems to be about 3 people who's lives are all related to each other, but as you continue to read it, you'll see that it's much more than that--Its like getting therapy, a self-examination of yourself, and it will ultimately change your way of looking at people and God as a whole. Can't really describe it better than that (without throwing away all the details!) so go ahead and buy it - you'll love every word!

Yes. And now... I upgraded my Firefox to the newest version, #3! It's the best Firefox yet, even though a little buggy and very short on themes, and it is ABSOLUTELY the best web browser you'll ever have! If you are still cheating yourself by using Internet Explorer, you are missing out on using the internet! And I used to be an IE user! I know better than that now!

Well that's about it, good day everyone! :aww:
